The engine cowling off a G550 came to Jet East in desperate need of repair. The outer skin and core were exposed to extreme heat, causing the epoxy to degrade the structural characteristics. G550 cowlings absorb oil, requiring days of contamination removal. Jet East replaced the damaged core and restored almost half of the cowling by fabricating molds from a serviceable cowling. The result was a showroom quality finish that matched the aircraft perfectly.
